Aude Piguet launched a few crazy new Royal Oak series this month, and while they certainly took the spotlight, there were other new releases as well. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the launch of the Code 11.59 series, and the series has been expanded by seven new watches.

AP has been slowly perfecting the Code 11.59 series over the past five years, trying out a variety of variables such as materials, complications, and colors. This process seems far from over, as the series has a wide variety of options, some of which are so similar that they almost look overlapping.

According to AP, the two watches have very different shades of blue, with the first featuring a luminous blue dial with an embossed pattern, and the other featuring a "Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50" dial with an embossed pattern. Both watches come with a large square alligator strap in a color that matches the dial. A rubber strap is also available.

AP has also added a new member to the Code 11.59 41 mm Ref. 15210. Likewise, the newcomer comes in just two different styles, both with an 18K rose gold case and equipped with the self-winding 4302 movement, which offers a power reserve of up to 70 hours, 10 hours more than its smaller sibling.

Last but not least, the Code 11.59 41 mm chronograph family is expanded with the Ref. 26393, which is equipped with the date-driven flyback chronograph calibre 4401, also found in the latest generation of Royal Oak chronographs.

Once again, both models are available in 18K rose gold with either a “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” printed pattern dial or a dark olive green printed pattern dial.

However, there is a third version, this time with a black ceramic case and a bezel, lugs and pushers in 18-karat rose gold. This watch also features a crown made of black ceramic and 18-karat rose gold, as well as a black pattern dial. There is no doubt that the Code 11.59 collection has never lacked controversy. Over the past five years, we have seen a variety of new models, and I have always preferred the more complicated ones, from the new flyback chronograph all the way to the RD #4. I find that these models bring more depth to the Code 11.59 than the regular automatic models, because sometimes, or from a certain angle, the Code 11.59 design seems to be simple - especially from the front.
